Dr. Rajeev Rajan  received his B. Tech in Electronics and Communication from College of Engineering,  Adoor (Cochin University of Science and Technology) in 2000; M. Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation  from  College of Engineering, Trivandrum in 2004; Ph.D from the Dept.  of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Chennai in 2017.

Before Joining Government Engineering College, Idukki, He served as Professor and Head of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill(2022-2024), College of Engineering, Trivandrum,(2018-2022), he served as Assistant Professor in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam (2014-2018)and Government Engineering College Wayanad (2005-2014),  Radiological safety officer/ Senior research fellow at Fluid Control Research Institute  (Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India), Palakkad, Kerala (2004-2005), Graduate Trainee in Liquid Propulsion System Centre (ISRO), Mahendragiri, Tamilnadu (2001-2002).

He completed three research projects under TEQIP, namely, Music information retrieval  using melodic similarity,  Development of a multi-lingual emotional speech corpus and its study and Maturity analysis of watermelon using non-destructive testing
